On Yud Tes Kislev, 5734, the Rebbe launched the international mivtza Chanukah campaign, later connecting it with the war and putting an emphasis on visiting the Israeli soldiers, and the widows and orphans from the war.

At the Farbrengen of Shabbos Vayeshev, 20 Kislev , the Rebbe went into detail, giving clear guidelines as to what the Mivtza would include

On the following Shabbos, Parshas Miketz, the Rebbe spoke about the inyan of Neiros Chanukah and how its connected to every Yid. continuing to encourage the Mivtza.

In a special farbrengen that took place on the last night of Chanukah, the Rebbe said: We spoke and asked that men, women and children should make the biggest Shturem to ignite their own selves, and through that illuminate the world… Those who were involved in these activities, should say L’chaim with a Freilichen Niggun…

On Shabbos Parshas Vayeishev 5735, the Rebbe spoke about continuing Chanukah Mivtzoim like last year and how every year there is an Ohr Chodosh.

On Motzei Chanukah 5735, the Rebbe spoke about Mivtza Chanukah, and gave dollars to Chassidim who went on Mivtzoim.

On Yud Tes Kislev 5736, 2 years since the start of the Mivtza the Rebbe encouraged the Chassidim to join the Mivtza for a third year.

On Shabbos Parshas Vayeishev, Chanukah, the Rebbe encouraged Chassidim to bring Mivtza Chanukah to israeli soldiers.

On Alef D’rosh Chodesh Teves 5736, the Rebbe encouraged Chassidim in Mivtza Chanukah stating that its not to late to do it, adding a specific focus on children.

On Shabbos Parshas Vayishlach 5737, the Rebbe spoke about continuing Mivtza Chanukah, especially when Chanukah starts on Shabbos.

On Yud Tes Kislve 5738, the anniversary of the launch, the Rebbe spoke strongly about continuing the Mivtza, stating that every house should be lit with Ner Mitzvah and Torah Ohr, adding that every Chossid that want to get involed will recieve 10 Shekalim towards his Mivtzoim.

On Shabbos Parshas Vayeoishev 5739, the Rebbe spoke at great lenght about Mivtza Chanukah, encouraging Chassidim to join the Mivtza stating that there is only one day left to prepare. The Rebbe went into great detail on how the Mivtza should be done

A year later on Shabbos Parshas Vayeishev 5740, the Rebbe again went into great detail about the Mivtza and how it should be done.

There were many more times throughout the years where the Rebbe spoke about Mivtza Chanukah, one time that sticks out is the 6th night of Chanukah 5747, in middle of the case on the Seforim. The Rebbe strongly encouraged the Chassidim to make a Shturem in Mivtza Chanukah, adding that a book should be printed of pictures of the Menorah lightings, which was later printed with the title “let there be light”
