The first time Chassidim in america went on Mivtza Lulav, was Sukkos 5714, the Rebbe discussed the idea on Simchas Beis Hashoeivah 5714.

On Yud Gimmel Tishrei 5736, the Rebbe discussed the inyan of Mivtza Lulav.

The following year on Yud Gimmel Tishrei 5737, the Rebbe again spoke about stating that we already know from last year the idea and it should be done again, this time adding that an effort should be made to reach hospitals and correctional facilities.

The next year on Parshas Hazinu 5738, the Rebbe again encouraged the Chassidim to join the initiative.

On Chai Elul of 5738 the Rebbea already began to spoke about Mivtza Lulav, explaining that by speaking and working on it now we will be sure that it will be successful.
